This huge beer festival takes place in Munich, Germany and thousands of people from all over the world come to the Bavarian Capital to check it out. They say that over the 16 days of partying over 6 million liters of beer is drank and 450,000 sausages are eaten.

The party kicks off in the festival meadows at noon when the lord mayor taps the first keg of beer and cries, "O zapft is" ("It's tapped"). There are 14 large tents and 20 smaller ones, each with its own vibe and type of beer. You should arrive to get a seat.

The history of the festival dates back to 1810 when it was a celebration for the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and his bride, Princess Therese.

This is one of the biggest gay festivals in all of Europe and it dates back to 1825 when it first began. You have grown men racing each other around, while dressed in a white dress as a woman.
